Discipleship Year
Do you want to spend a year growing as a disciple of Jesus and serving in a local church?
The Discipleship Year at Trinity Church Streetsville is for anyone aged 18-29 who wants to:
Grow in their relationship with Jesus
Exercise and nurture their spiritual gifts and passions
Learn more about God and the Bible, practically serve in a local church
Make lifelong friends
The Discipleship Year program runs from September to June. Each week includes one regular day of teaching and training, and one day of serving in ministry. This day of service could be done as 2 half days as well depending on the placement and scheduling.
How It Works
The teaching/ training day includes time for fellowship, worship, prayer, lessons, reflection and discussion time, followed by ministry placement training.
Teaching is based around 9 courses on the spiritual practices as outlined in “Practicing the Way” by John Mark Comer. Students will learn about and practice these spiritual disciplines with the goal of developing their own foundation for their adult life in Christ.
Areas of ministry include but are not limited to: Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Tech & Media, Outreach, Camp Ministry and Worship. Students are expected to regularly attend Sunday services as well.
There is NO COST for the Discipleship year program.
Financial support available- if financial assistance is necessary, the church can provide up to $500/month in living expense subsidy, depending on need.
